The Ferman Community Partnership 

Since 1895, the Ferman organization, and its employees, have positively influenced the people and communities they serve by demonstrating excellence in corporate citizenship through the Ferman Community Partnership. 

Today, the values instilled by our founders guide Ferman's charitable and philanthropic impact on the Tampa Bay area. We strive to continually make a difference in people's lives through contributions of volunteer time and financial resources, and supporting our employees in their endeavors to make the Tampa Bay area a better place to live and work. 

The types of organizations supported through the Ferman Community Partnership are as diverse as our community and include schools, educational and scholarship programs; health, medical and human services organizations; arts, cultural and history groups; civic, community events and fund drives; amateur youth sports and related activities.

For over 10 years, the Team at Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs has raised money for Metropolitan Ministries. 

Through their incredible generosity, they have raised $3,000 towards "Boxes of Hope" food drive and this number has been matched by our dealership management for a grand total of $6,000 donated. In addition, 1,031 pounds of canned goods were also donated.

Wheelchairs 4 Kids is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children with physical disabilities by providing wheelchairs, home and vehicle modifications, as well as other assistive equipment at no charge to the families. 

Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs sponsored the 6th Annual Kimberly Knorr Memorial Celebrity Golf Tournament (2021) on Thursday, January 28, 2021. This event included celebrities like two-time MLB All-Star Ian Desmond. Altogether, $6,000 was raised for Wheelchairs 4 Kids.

Thank you to everyone who donated blood on January 6th with OneBlood! We at Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs had a goal to collect 6 units of blood to donate. Not only did we match this goal, but we exceeded it! Thanks to our amazing Ferman Family, both Employees and Guests, we were able to collect 8 units of blood ... this amount is equivalent to saving/ sustaining 24 lives. That is amazing!

We have an awesome Employee Team at Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs. 

Together they raised $2,700 for Metropolitan Ministries. Inspired by their generosity our dealership management added another $3,000 bringing the grand total to $5,700!

The Cops/Kids Program is a local organization run by the Tarpon Springs Police Department that provides gifts for low income, and at-risk children and families. Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs has the privilege of providing support for this awesome program for over 6 years. 

During the 2020 Christmas Season, Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs raised $2,850 with $400 coming from our employee alone. Plus, 29 toys were donated.

2020 Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs partners with Metropolitan Ministries

For 9 years running, the Team at Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs has donated to the Metropolitan Ministries "Boxes Of Hope" Food Drive. 

Team Tarpon has donated 50 boxes plus multiple extra bags of food to our local Metropolitan Ministry location. This food will help feed hundreds in our community this holiday season. Ferman is truly Thankful to partner with such an awesome group and appreciate who gave to such a great cause!

Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs is proud to support East Lake Fire Rescue - Station 57. Firefighters are a vital asset to our community and essential front line workers during this pandemic. And the stations they work in 24 hours a day are critical infrastructure for the community. 

Ferman is happy to donate $300 and sponsor Station 57 during East Lake Fire Rescue's 7th annual 5k run/ walk - a virtual, on your own time / any time, event between 10/24/20 through 11/21/20. Thank you so much to everyone who participates ... and to all of our firefighters!

The Tarpon Springs 5th Annual "Sweet Corn Festival" is set for Saturday, May 16th at Craig Park on the Bayou. It's a local festival hosted by the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church offering music & live entertainment, vendors and great food - including southern style BBQ Ribs/Chicken and "Hot Roasted Freshly Picked Central Florida Sweet Corn-on-the-cob".

The goal of the Sweet Corn Festival of Tarpon Springs is to showcase the diversity of this great and beautiful community. Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs is all about that and we love to participate and offer support for our local area, so we are very excited to sponsor this great community event.

Some may know her as an A student from J.W. Mitchell High School, while others ... as one of the best in the World. Lilli Cletcher of Trinity is a 2nd degree black belt in Karate, training at Ingram's Karate for approximately nine years. She has competed in the last two WUKF World Karate Championships and is currently ranked as 2nd in the Nation and 3rd in the World!

Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs donates $300 to sponsor Lilli Cletcher for the 2020 WUKF World Karate Championship. Giving us the privilege of supporting her for 3 years in a row. We're all cheering for you, good luck Lilli!

The Cops/Kids Program is a local organization run by the Tarpon Springs Police Department that provides gifts for low income, and at-risk children and families. For more than 5 years Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs has provided support for the Tarpon Springs Police Department and their generous program. 

During the 2019 Christmas Season, in addition to toy donations, Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs raised $2,750 as a whole to help spread Holiday Cheer to those in need.
 

FERMAN VOLVO - TARPON SPRINGS AND TEAM BRING IN "BOXES OF HOPE" WITH METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES

For 8 years running, the Team at Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs has donated to the Metropolitan Ministries "Boxes of Hope" Food Drive.

Our General Manager, John Reece, challenged the store's Sales & Service Teams, as well as the Collision Center Team to raise $500. If they could accomplish the goal he would personally match it. Everyone rallied and Ferman Volvo of Tarpon Springs raised a grand total of $1,052!
On November 15, 2019, with the money we raised, we purchased and delivered 2,084 pounds of food!

With 25,000 families in need, we greatly appreciate everyone who gave towards such a great cause!

Ferman Volvo Cars and Team Support Metropolitan Ministries During the Holiday Season

For the 6th year in a row, food was collected by the Team at Ferman Volvo Cars and donated to Metropolitan Ministries. It has become an annual tradition and this year's giving will help feed local families in need.

Metropolitan Ministries provides 2,500 meals per day which means they have a great need, especially during the Holidays.

Mark Templeton, Jill Vandenboogaart and Kevin Smith along with the rest of the Ferman Volvo Cars Team stepped up and delivered 55 boxes of food and 4 turkeys. That's 1,084 lbs of food! The Team also donated $208 in gift cards.



Ferman Volvo Cars Hosts a 99.5 QYK Ticket Raid While Helping Out Metropolitan Ministries

On November 8th, Ferman Volvo Cars teamed up with 99.5 QYK to host a ticket raid for this year's Guitar Pull at the Strax Center. One lucky winner took home a pair of tickets to the event. Check out all the great pics QYK's Street Team snapped at our dealership in Tarpon Springs here.
 
In an effort to help feed those in need in the Tampa Bay area, Guests were encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to Metropolitan Ministries during the ticket raid.

Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs Helps Pinellas County Students in Need by Donating to Stuff the Bus!

photo of Pinellas County student and staff in front of bus at a local community event According to the Pinellas Education Foundation, in Pinellas County alone there are over 3,000 homeless children and 13% of families are at poverty level. Ferman Volvo Cars, along with every Ferman location in Pinellas County, stepped up to make sure these children and families have the supplies they require for the upcoming school year.

Along with essential items like backpacks, pencils and notebooks, the Ferman Team presented the Pinellas Education Foundation with a check for $2,000. This gift will help kids throughout Pinellas County get the education they deserve.

The Team at Ferman Volvo Cars Continues Its Partnership with Metropolitan Ministries

photo of Ferman Volvo at a Metropolitan Ministries community event Over the past 5 years, The Team at Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs has participated in The Boxes of Hope Food Drive with Metropolitan Ministries of Pasco County. Pasco County has 65,000 residents that live at or below the poverty line. Many of these folks are one emergency away from potential homelessness. During the Holiday Season, the need for food becomes even greater. Team Tarpon helped fill the void in a big way.

This year, General Manager John Reece put out a challenge that he would match his staff's donations. The extra motivation paid off in a big way. Not only did our team get into the giving spirit, they also had several Guests drop off donations as well!

All totaled, The Tarpon Springs Team collected 93 Boxes of Hope full of food, 45 turkeys and $175 in gift cards. That's over 2,500 pounds of food!

Metropolitan Ministries Associate Director of Donor Relations Nancy Dougherty expressed her sincere gratitude, stating that Metropolitan Ministries is blessed to have a great corporate sponsor like Ferman.

Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs Rocks the Cotee River Bike Fest

The team at Ferman Volvo Cars sponsored the 2016 Cotee River Bikefest hosted by the West Pasco Chamber of Commerce. Sims Park in Downtown New Port Richey was the destination for bikers and motorcycle fans from all over.

 Guests of all ages were treated to complimentary Ferman t-shirts and other giveaways to help them remember this rocking good time.

Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs Partners with Cops 'n Kids

During the 2015 Christmas season, the team at Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs helped support Cops 'n Kids, a local organization run by the Tarpon Springs Police Department that provides year-round after school and summer camp activities for the youth of Pinellas County. The team at Ferman Volvo Cars donated gifts for 29 children in need.

Metropolitan Ministries Community Partnership

In December of 2015, the team at Ferman Volvo Cars of Tarpon Springs helped donate 250 pounds of food to Metropolitan Ministries. Food items like this will help Met Min serve 23,000 local families during Thanksgiving and Christmas.

On December 19, 2012 General Manager John Reece, Parts Manager's Mark Templeton and Kevin Smith delivered 800 pounds of food and $100 in gift cards to the Metropolitan Ministries location in Holiday Florida serving the communities of North Pinellas and West Pasco counties.

This year they enlisted the help of dealership Guests by offering a free car wash and vacuum for any food donation. This was the largest contribution from Tarpon Springs to date with plans of surpassing 1000 pounds next season.
